We have a variety of employee groups at UCSB, including numerous Collective Bargaining Units. Pay rates for each collective bargaining unit are determined through systemwide bargaining and negotiations, while pay rates for unrepresented employees are determined by University management. Pay at the University can be affected by numerous factors such as funding increases and decreases, a department's ability to pay, market pressures, recruitment and retention issues, policy and practice, and collective bargaining negotiations, just to name a few.
